Suspect sought after standoff and shooting involving converted bus in Lincoln City

LINCOLN CITY, Ore. (KPTV) – A suspect is being sought following a standoff and shooting in Lincoln City Wednesday, Lincoln City police said.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., police told FOX 12 that an old, converted school bus was stopped in the area and at least one shot was fired, “but not by police,” a spokesman said.

The police tried to negotiate with the bus’s occupants, the spokesman said.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m., officers searched the bus but found no one inside, police said. A spokesman said a suspect who “fled across the beach” had not yet been found, but said there was no “active search” of the beach at the time.

Police did not provide any information about the reasons for the bus stop or about possible manhunts for suspects in connection with the incident.
