NC State will host Atlanta (Georgia) Douglass High senior Jontae Gilbert from Wednesday through Friday.

Statistics

Junior year: Gilbert caught 15 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown, and rushed 14 times for 118 yards last fall. He added 21 tackles, three tackles for loss and an interception on defense.

Recruitment

Gilbert verbally committed to Ohio State on July 29, 2022 and officially decommitted on July 29, 2023. NC State was in the mix, in part because of former recruiting staff member Jatavis Sanders, who left for Alabama last winter.

Gilbert has already officially visited Central Florida, Georgia and Georgia Tech. He is taking a midweek official visit to North Carolina State and will visit his hometown Georgia State June 21-23. Louisville and South Carolina are also in the game.

Gilbert will announce October 19, his birthday.
