Man arrested for shooting and killing his wife

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Monday morning, September 30th for allegedly killing his wife.

Deputies said Antonio Jones, 46, was arrested Monday, Sept. 30, on charges of second-degree murder and illegal possession of stolen firearms.

According to the sheriff’s office, the fatal domestic shooting occurred around 8 a.m. on East Glen Court near Maplewood Drive.

Officers identified the victim as Keisha Jones, 43.

Arrest records show that Antonio called 9-1-1 and stated, “He killed his wife.” Officers reported that Keisha was found dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to the arrest report, video surveillance footage captured a physical disturbance and ongoing arguments into the early morning hours.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Monday morning, September 30th.

Officials said during his interview that Antonio confessed to shooting his wife after a fight. They added that he claimed self-defense but that this was unfounded based on the evidence received.

According to the arrest report, the victim’s injuries indicated someone was fighting back.

Officers have no prior calls involving the suspect and victim, the sheriff’s office confirmed.
