Pedestrian killed on I-55 in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck on I-55 Monday.

Tommie Brown of the Jackson Police Department tells WLBT 3 On Your Side that a 28-year-old black man was struck by a 2019 Hyundai Elantra while walking on I-55 South Frontage Road near the Elton Road exit.

He says this incident was not a hit-and-run and the driver is still on scene.

The Hinds County coroner and accident investigators are also on scene.
