Police investigating possible attempted kidnapping of teen in Vancouver

VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) – Police are investigating a potential kidnapping attempt of a 14-year-old girl near Heritage High School, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident reportedly occurred near the intersection of NE 76th Street and NE 122nd Avenue in Vancouver between 8:10 and 8:20 on Monday morning as the girl was walking to Heritage High for school. Officers received a 911 call around 9:43 am

The student reported that an unknown man emerged from behind bushes and grabbed her from behind, attempting to cover her face with fabric. She was able to break away, and ran the remaining several blocks to school, appearing to be unhurt from the incident.

The suspect is described as a male with light brown skin, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a slender build, black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing oval-shaped glasses, a black hooded sweatshirt, black cargo pants, a black T-shirt, and a black COVID-style disposable mask.
