WWE NXT Results: Winners, Live Ratings, Reactions and Highlights from The CW Network’s Debut | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats and Rumors

Shawn Michaels introduced the new NXT and NXT Women’s Championships for the new CW era. Triple H helped him ask the Chicago crowd if they were ready.

Roxanne Perez found herself outmatched by Giulia throughout this fight. However, while the referee was distracted, Cora Jade laid out The Beautiful Madness with a double hook DDT on the floor. The Prodigy hit him with Pop Rox to win.

When Giulia first signed with WWE, hype began to build for a climactic battle between The Beautiful Madness and The Prodigy. It was always going to be difficult to live up to the hype.

Perez vs. Giulia worked a match that was not unique to the WWE style, lacking sharpness in the action. However, it wasn’t due to a lack of chemistry. In fact, both men kept their footing well throughout the match.

Better results will come as the two work more together. The execution will tighten up and hopefully they will maintain that edge that is so foreign to NXT.

The result was a real shock, even if the arrival of Stéphanie Vaquer was a wake-up call last week. Jade’s arrival adds some complications to the suddenly busy women’s main event scene.

This won’t hurt Giulia, who didn’t need an undefeated streak to make it big. She will have another chance at the gold medal and will likely win the rematch as long as Vaquer doesn’t jump in front of her in the queue.

Perez and Jade working together is a great move, and this surprise result establishes this reformed heel alliance at the top of the company.

Pérez def. Giulia by pinfall to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.

  • NXT arrived with a new theme: “Millions From Now” by 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne. It’s a solid way to maintain NXT’s growing hip hop focus.
  • The NXT Championship overhauls were necessary, especially with the black and silver brand color swap, although the new look was pretty basic.
  • Giulia often outplayed Perez’s technical offense, coming out of the crossface.
  • Vic Joseph and Booker T were ready to call it quits after Giulia connected on her low knee strike, but The Prodigy kicked out.
  • When Perez first hit Pop Rox, The Beautiful Madness came out.
  • When The Prodigy followed, Giulia planted her on the floor with a Northern Lights Bomb. Both were almost eliminated.
