Angelica Maria Fransisco pleaded guilty to charges of voter fraud and passport fraud.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WAFF) – An undocumented woman who recently lived in Russellville has been charged with voter fraud and passport fraud.

U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona announced Thursday that Angelica Maria Francisco, 34, used a false identity and used it to vote in multiple elections and obtain multiple United States passports.

Francisco faces nine counts in the indictment, including:

  • False claims of citizenship in connection with voting
  • False Statements in United States Passport Application
  • Use of a United States passport obtained by false representation
  • Aggravated identity theft

Escalona says a plea agreement has been filed indicating that Francisco has agreed to plead guilty to all charges.

Officials said Francisco assumed the identity of a U.S. citizen in or around 2011. She used that identity to obtain a passport in 2011.

She used the passports to travel to and from her native Guatemala in 2012, 2015 and 2018.

She also registered to vote in Alabama in 2016 and voted in the 2016 and 2020 primaries.

In 2021, Francisco used the same identity to apply for and receive a renewed passport, which he used to travel to Guatemala in 2022.

A court date will soon be set for Francisco to enter his guilty plea.
