PUEBLO, Colorado (KKTV) – A Pueblo West man was arrested at his home on Sept. 6 after officials learned he was wanted in Utah on multiple counts of sexual assault, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

The sheriff’s office said special investigations investigators arrested Kevin Young, 37, who was wanted on a no-bail warrant stemming from a July 2023 incident in Piute County, Utah.

Young was taken into custody. The sheriff’s office said he was wanted on a warrant for rape, five counts of rape with objects and two counts of sexual abuse.

He was taken to the Pueblo County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Utah.

According to KSL in Utah, the victim was under the age of 18 and DNA is being used as evidence in the case, citing charging documents.

11 News confirmed that the suspect works for the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC).

“I can confirm that Kevin A. Young is currently employed by the Colorado Department of Corrections as a Sergeant at Centennial Correctional Facility,” a CDOC spokesperson wrote to 11 News. “However, because this is an ongoing investigation, I can only provide limited details at this time. Please note that Mr. Young is currently on paid administrative leave.”
