New Haven Police Department police dog retires after seven years of service

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WPTA) – The New Haven Police Department announces that its K-9 Officer Archie has officially retired after over seven years of service.

Dog handler Archie joined the New Haven Police Department in December 2016 and began working as a dog handler in New Haven schools in 2020.

The dog’s handler Archie will now spend his retirement at home with Officer Z. Moord of the New Haven Police Department.

On Thursday, the retirement of police dog Archie was made official with a final recall.
