Harris campaign in Wisconsin on Wednesday night

Vice President Kamala Harris she returned to a familiar place on the final stage of her presidential campaign.

Working to protect individual liberties and democracy, she gave her speech Wednesday evening a few miles from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where her progressive parents participated in various civil rights activities in the late 1960s. She spoke at the nearly 10,000-seat Alliant Energy Center to a crowd of mostly women.

As president, Harris promised to seek common ground and commonsense solutions to problems. “I don’t care about scoring political points. I care about progress,” she said in her speech.

It’s even closer in some swing states, which could ultimately decide the election. For example, Harris is ahead of Trump by 0.2 percentage points in Real Clear Politics Wisconsin polling averages.
