A family is paying tribute to the victims of a fatal crash at Haigh Roundabout

The woman who died following a crash in South Yorkshire was identified as 54-year-old Deborah Girgis.

The gray Peugeot in which Ms Girgis was driving collided with a white Vauxhaull van at the Haigh roundabout at around 11.10am GMT on October 25. She died later in hospital.

According to South Yorkshire Police, the driver of the van, a 29-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired and causing death by dangerous driving and was released on bail.

In a statement, Ms Girgis’ family described her as a “beloved mother, wife and sister”, adding that she “put everyone else first and asked for very little in return”.

“Losing her so unexpectedly was a blow to our family and left a void that can never be filled,” they said.

South Yorkshire Police appealed for anyone who saw what happened or had footage of the vehicles involved before the crash at the roundabout near junction 38 of the M1 motorway to contact them.
